On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan officially kicked off Pakistan’s Coronavirus vaccination campaign in which a doctor became the first in the country to receive the vaccine.
A day earlier, 500,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm’s Coronavirus vaccine reached Pakistan, allowing the government to start a nationwide inoculation campaign with frontline healthcare workers.
While speaking with media outlets after the launch of the vaccination campaign, SAPM on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan, apprised the nation of possible harmless side-effects of Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine.
According to Dr. Faisal Sultan, people may experience fever and body aches after receiving the Coronavirus vaccine.
However, citizens should not worry because it is a normal occurrence and these symptoms will alleviate in a few hours, said Dr. Faisal, adding that it shows the vaccine is actually working.
Dr. Faisal noted that around 70 million Pakistanis above the age of 18 will be vaccinated free of cost under the vaccination campaign before the end of 2021.
