Asad Ali Memon has become the first Pakistani and the first Asian to summit Mount Kilimanjaro within twenty-four hours.
Memon tweeted:
Feb 16, 2021: Alhumdulillah, I became the only Asian & Pakistani to climb #kilimanjaro in less than 24hours. It took a complete 20hours to summit and return back to the gate.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan High Commission in Tanzania, the young Pakistani mountaineer arrived at the United Republic of Tanzania last week to acquaint himself with the area, following which he arrived at the ‘start point Umbwe Gate’ of Mount Kilimanjaro on 14 February.

Memon began the challenge early morning at 6 AM on Monday, 15 February, and it took him 20 hours to complete the challenge.

The mission revealed that the Umbwe route undertaken by Memon is the “most challenging” to summit the mountain as it is a vertical steep ascent.
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain in the world. It is also the third mountain of Memon’s ‘Seven Summit Challenge’.
