The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is now accepting applications for the accreditation of Pakistan-based journals for the academic year 2020-21, as per an official handout.
All Pakistan-based research journals that meet the HEC’s accreditation criteria have been invited to apply, and those who are involved with the journals that are currently enlisted in its Journal Recognition System (HJRS) have been notified that are obligated to apply afresh.
The deadline for the submission of online applications is 31 March 2021.

To clarify which papers may be registered under the HEC filing, the notification details that research journals “published by registered entities through financial support and capacity building to enhance their academic and publication standards” can be submitted.
It further mentions that journals that fulfill the stipulations for the accreditation set forth by the HEC channel are given recognition “through an open call”.
