The vehicle is said to be offered in three main variants — the Standard Manual, the Standard Auto, and the Premium Auto — which will all feature a 1299 cc, naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 94 hp and 120 Nm of torque.

For the benefit of the early adapters, the company will also sell a ‘limited edition’ R3 variant — a special trim-level inspired by Proton’s ‘R3’ motorsports division that will feature additional styling cues and a slightly larger 1332 cc engine also offered as the standard in Malaysia. The engine has been downsized for the Pakistani market in compliance with the country’s tax laws.

The report revealed the R3 will only be offered as a CBU, which means it will be a rare variant on Pakistan’s roads.

Time and time again, Proton Pakistan has insisted that its goal is to promote healthy competition in the market by introducing reasonably priced and high-quality products, and the Saga seems to be its first step in that direction.

Although Proton has made no mention of the price of the Saga yet, automotive analysts and enthusiasts believe that it may be valued at between Rs. 1.7 million and Rs. 2.1 million, which seems to be a fairly attractive offer and a breath of fresh air in a market that is being flooded by big and expensive SUVs.

  • Saga is never a Yaris killer and never said by anyone but just this non sense writer :(

    • Yeah, I will buy the 2.7 million Yaris when I can get competitor for under 2 million. Makes sense.

    • I donot understand why guys like you enjoy ridculing others. Instead of learning manners, you always have to disrespect others. If you dont like what he claimed, go find someplace else but if you have a logical argument then indulge yourself in a healthy debate but WITHOUT SHOWING HATRED OR DISRESPECT.

      • I am not here to ridicule anyone, but the way the writer presented Saga in this article clarifies that Author doesn’t know anything about cars, he just did click-bait.

      • oh Kashu koomay, kabhi yaris, cultus yaan picanto daikhi bhi hai………….jis din tumnay Saga car daikh li ………… thu thu kartay phiro gay………..because mein daikh li hai few days back.

  • Thank you proton Pakistan. We expect you more in future to launch in hatchback car and sedan segments..

  • No doubts. Its really a good car in shape and design wise. interior design and options are much better than city and Yaris. Its gives a tough times to city and Yaris..

  • Price will be 2.0 to 2.5 M which is not justifiable when yaris 1.3 Cvt available @2.7M

  • Good luck Proton Saga. May you prosper with healthy competition. Do take care of middle class.

  • Worse Design. Even Liana is good looking. Don’t compare this with Yaris. TOYOTA IS TOYOTA.
Secondly build quality of Proton mini suv is worse. Even their doors are like Mehran. Please get real cars in Pakistan.

    • Hazrat real cars yani kia or hyundai i to hn pakistan mn.but log to usmn b sirf defect hi nkal rh hn.mjhy to aj tak ye nh pata chal saka k real cars akhir konsi hoti hn.

  • Hahahaha.Roads are already flooded with the earlier Yaris killer Alsvin from chanchan………this proton will kill the electron to make a Neutron……then saga saga everywhere……
