The exclusion of the all-rounder, Imad Wasim, from the national squad for the tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe came as a surprise to many, with several analysts criticizing the decision. However, the Chief Selector, Mohammad Wasim, has outlined what Imad needs to do to make a comeback and reassured that he is still in their plans.
Speaking on the matter, the Chief Selector said that Imad needs to improve few aspects of his game to come back to the national squad. Wasim said that Imad is still in their plans, but he needs to be more versatile to get into the squad ahead of Mohammad Nawaz.

Imad has been a mainstay in the limited-overs side for the past few years but has failed to make the squad ever since Mohammad Wasim took over the role of the Chief selector. Imad announced he was unavailable for the previous series against South Africa due to personal reasons but was hopeful of making a comeback in the upcoming tour.
Mohammad Wasim believes that Imad needs to come out of his comfort zone and be more versatile to be beneficial for the national team. He said that Imad has become a limited cricketer and needs to add more to his game to add value to the team. He advised Imad to become a better middle-overs bowler to prove his worth.

“We saw in the PSL that some of the boys were coming out of their comfort zone and bowling with the new ball, trying different things, and this is exactly what we wanted to see. We want Imad to come out of his comfort zone, and we want to have a back-up for every player to step in where they are required,” Wasim said
Wasim said that the competition of places in the national team is very high, and each player has to work hard to get into the team. He said that whichever player performs on the pitch will be considered for the national squad.
