Sindh Announces Date for Reopening Schools

Sindh’s Minister for Education and Labour, Saeed Ghani, has announced that all educational institutions across the province will reopen on 22 April.

According to the minister, lessons for Classes 9 to 12 will continue without any gaps but with strict adherence to the COVID-19 SOPs.

The minister declared that the examinations will be conducted according to the schedule, and stressed that no student would be promoted to the next class without passing annual examinations. He stated that if students are passed in the annual board examinations for the second consecutive year without taking the examinations, it will completely ruin the education sector.

Minister Ghani added that if there is an increase in the coronavirus cases in any of the districts of the province, the concerned district administration may make its own decisions.

Note that he had announced the suspension of in-person lessons up to Class 8 in all the public and private schools for 15 days on 6 April.
