The meeting also discussed shortening exam duration by conducting only optional exams instead of compulsory ones. However, it was conveyed that taking optional exams could be possible for the science category as it has fewer optional exams, but will be difficult in the arts category as there are many optional subjects.  Hence, the idea was floated to take exams for classes X and XII, and promote students of IX and XI grades without examinations.
