NCOC Doesn’t Want PCB to Host PSL in Karachi

National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) move the remainder of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) from Karachi to the UAE. The suggestion came after judging the dire situation in the country due to COVID-19.

The PSL officials recently met with the NCOC, briefing their plans of hosting the remainder of the tournament in Karachi, despite a surge in the COVID-19 cases across the country.

According to sources, NCOC was not satisfied with the plans amidst the pandemic and has requested the PCB to shift the tournament to the UAE. Lockdown is likely to be imposed in the next few days in various hotspot areas all over the country, including Karachi, which would make it impossible for the tournament to be held in the city.

According to various reports, all six PSL franchises have also requested the PCB to move the tournament to UAE as they are wary of the COVID-19 situation in the country. The sudden suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also raised a few question marks for the franchises as they have already lost many of their foreign stars from the original squad.

According to reports, the PCB will take the final decision regarding the matter after Eid, and it is expected that the remaining matches will be shifted to the UAE.
