GCU Lahore Launches a New Ranking System to Measure Academic Performance

The Government College University (GCU) in Lahore has added a new standard ranking system to measure the performance of numerous academic departments.

The key indicators of the ranking system include the efficiency of the department’s student advising system, the designing of rubrics for assessments, updated curriculum handbooks, seminars, conferences, and training workshops, and the cumulative teaching score in students’ evaluations.

Designed after a time-consuming process, the new ranking system is aimed at reinforcing academic reforms at the university and encouraging healthy competitions at the inter-departmental level to improve the students’ learning curves.

In this regard, the Vice-Chancellor of the GCU, Prof. Zaidi, remarked that “most of the universities in Pakistan are aiming to gauge and improve their performance, and many of them intend to compete at the highest level, adding that our ranking system of academic departments will offer an example of quality”.
