Sajid Sadpara Begins K2 Search Operation for His Father & Missing Climbers

Sajid Ali Sadpara has announced to climb K2 for a ground search of his father and legendary mountaineer, late Mohammad Ali Sadpara, and two other missing climbers.

According to details, Sajid Sadpara will be accompanied by Canadian filmmaker, Elia Saikaly. He is an award-winning adventure filmmaker and his work has received millions of views on Discovery Channel, BBC, ESPN, HBO, NBC, and many other TV channels.

Taking to Twitter, Sajid Sadpara penned that he is teaming up with Elia to launch a ground search of the three missing climbers of the K2 winter 2021 expedition, including his father Ali Sadpara.

While asking for prayers and good wishes, Sajid said he is climbing K2 for a ground search in order to determine what happened to the three missing climbers and with a possibility of recovering their bodies.

Mohammad Ali Sadpara, John Snorri of Iceland, and Juan Pablo Mohr of Chile went missing during the K2 winter expedition in February this year.

Sadpara, Snorri, and Mohr teamed up to set the record for the first-ever K2 ascent in winter. On the night of 5 February, they disappeared near the summit of K2 and were never seen again.

Sajid and Elia were also a part of the K2 winter expedition team. Elia was filming a documentary on the first-ever winter ascent of K2. Both of them took part in the search and rescue operation as well.
