Punjab Announces Summer Vacation for Colleges and Universities

All public and private colleges and universities in Punjab will enjoy summer break from July 12 to 31.

The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) announced this on Monday through an official notification.

All public/autonomous and private sector colleges and universities in Punjab shall remain closed for summer vacation from July 12 to 31.

It said that the Secondary Certificate (SSC)/Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Annual Examination 2021 shall be conducted by all the boards of intermediate and secondary education as per the already notified schedule.

“All public and private universities may also conduct their examinations as per their schedule under strict observance of COVID-19 SOPs,” it read.

Note that the Punjab education department had already announced summer vacation for schools across the province from July 1.

The provincial minister for Education, Murad Raas, had announced it in a tweet on June 29. He said that the schools in the province would go on summer break from July 1 to August 1.

“[During vacations], my request to all the children and their families is to follow SOPs issued by the government,” the education minister said.
