Sindh Govt Shuts Down Universities Due to COVID-19

The government of Sindh has decided to close all the universities in the province until 31 July.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department, all the private and public universities have been directed to suspend their on-campus activities and conduct classes online.

This decision was taken during a meeting of Sindh’s Coronavirus Task Force on Friday, and it was also decided that all the examinations (including the Intermediate ones) will be conducted as scheduled despite the closure of the institutions.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stated that Sindh’s COVID-19 infection rate has surged to 10 percent and that the Delta variant is spreading rapidly.

The provincial government has banned indoor and outdoor dining at restaurants, weddings, gatherings, and has decided to close markets after 6 PM.
