Yamaha YBR 125G Gets A Huge Price Increase

The price hike saga continues in Pakistan as Yamaha has reportedly increased the price tag for YBR 125G just two weeks after announcing an elevation in the prices of the rest of its lineup.

The previous price of the YBR 125G was Rs. 197,000, which has now been increased by Rs. 8000 to Rs. 205,000. The one before this was a few months ago when the price was bumped up from Rs. 190,000 to Rs. 197,000.

Yamaha has not explained the reasoning behind the latest price hike but it is assumed that the latest increase in shipping costs, as well as the price of steel, is likely to compel the motorcycle manufacturers in Pakistan to do so. Atlas Honda, the Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), and several Chinese motorcycle manufacturers have also upped the prices of their bikes while attributing it to increased shipping costs.

The government must look into this crucial matter and introduce strict price regulation measures for the motorcycle industry because this basic means of transportation is gradually becoming unattainable for a large number of people.
