An audit report of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) revealed irregularities in the construction of Islamabad International Airport (IIA) on Sunday.
The report showed that the wrong construction site had been chosen to build the air traffic control tower at the IIA, which caused a loss of Rs. 21 million to the national exchequer.
According to the report, the wrong construction site has resulted in the air traffic control (ATC) being blinded by the planes standing northwest of the terminal.

A new ATC had been built as the previously built tower had failed to serve its purpose, resulting in the loss of Rs. 21 million. Evidently, mismanagement and poor control of affairs were behind this loss.
The project administration had been informed of the matter but it failed to respond to the concerns, as disclosed via the report.
