Measures to Attract Foreign Investments for Local Businesses Underway: President Alvi

The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, has said that steps are being taken to provide a congenial business environment to attract foreign investments to the country.

He added that the reforms initiated by the government to improve the ease of doing business had delivered results, and Pakistan’s standing in international rankings had improved from the 136th position to the 108th.

Dr. Alvi made these remarks while talking to a delegation of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its President, Fida Hussain Dashti, that had called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today.

Talking to the delegation, Dr. Alvi said that the government is focusing on facilitating and strengthening the business and industrial sectors, and the concerned divisions had provided maximum relief to the trade community and other vulnerable segments of society in this regard during the pandemic.

He highlighted that the government has allocated Rs. 100 billion to the Kamyab Jawan Program to promote entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises in the country, and to provide business loans to the youth on easy terms and conditions.

The delegation informed the President about the contributions of Quetta’s business community to the national economy, and the issues that it faces.

President Alvi assured the delegation that he will help them address their problems.
