Former Indian wicket-keeper batter, Dinesh Karthik, said that playing against Pakistan was the highlight of his career. Karthik said that India’s clashes against Pakistan are always special, and he was fortunate enough to play for his country against his arch-rivals.
Karthik talked about his experience of playing for his country in a special interview video released by the official account of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on various social media platforms.
Karthik said that it is hard to put into words the anticipation of the encounter between Pakistan and India. He said that there is a fire in your belly to perform, and you always want to give more than a hundred percent in the historical clash.
The 36-year old said that although he did not play much against Pakistan due to various reasons over the period of time, he thoroughly enjoyed every match he played against the Men in Green.
Karthik spoke about the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2009 held in South Africa and the two matches between Pakistan and India in the tournament. He said that the tournament was unforgettable, and the way both teams played showed the talent they possess. He said that both Pakistan and India defied the odds to make it to the final, which made the tournament even more special.
