IT Minister Directs Authorities to Resolve Ongoing Internet Issues As Soon As Possible

The Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Syed Amin Ul Haque, has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL) officials to resolve the ongoing network issues as soon as possible.

The minister has directed the authorities to detect and rectify the network issues and said that people are affected by the situation.

According to the IT Minister, PTCL’s optical fiber network in the northern and central parts of the country has suffered technical problems due to the recent rain and floods. This in turn has been causing internet and connectivity problems since this morning.

The officials of the PTCL responded that teams are working to restore internet service on a priority basis for the convenience of the customers. In a recent tweet, PTCL addressed the concerns of the customers, stating, “As reported by PTCL, issue has been reported in data networks between South and North which is causing internet connectivity issues.”
