Star pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi, came out in support of Babar Azam after he was severely criticized for poor captaincy in the recently concluded Test series against England.
The left-arm pacer, who had been ruled out of the series due to a knee injury, took to Twitter to appreciate Babar Azam and asked cricket fans to support the national team.
Shaheen wrote on his Twitter, “Babar Azam hamari or Pakistan ki Shan, jaan or pehchan hai. Wo hamara kaptaan hai or rahe ga. Kuch or sochna bhi manah hai.”
Shaheen’s tweet, which drew attention in the cricket community, quickly became a top trend on social media. The trend remained at the top for hours.
Meanwhile, star pacer, Haris Rauf, also tweeted in support of Babar, using the heart emoji and writing, “You are our captain and will remain our captain forever.”
England whitewashed Pakistan in the three-match Test series, winning in Pindi and Multan before defeating the hosts by eight wickets in Karachi.
