Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz launched the Model Bazaar Free Home Delivery Project in Township, Lahore, on Friday. Under this initiative, essential goods will be directly delivered to citizens’ homes, enhancing service accessibility and convenience.
During her speech, CM Punjab announced that the free home delivery service would start from 36 model markets in Punjab. She also stated that new model markets would be established in areas without them, with land already designated for these developments.
“We will build model bazaars in all cities of Punjab and upgrade the existing ones,” she said. These model bazaars feature adequate seating, wheelchairs, and special public toilets for the disabled.
According to her, the prices of food items at these bazaars would be lower than those set by the Deputy Commissioner. “Women can now get essential items delivered to their doorsteps by making a phone call or ordering through the App,” CM Punjab said.
Maryam Nawaz stated that free solar plates will be distributed among consumers using up to 200 units per month to address the energy crisis. Furthermore, the Punjab government will offer solar systems in easy installments for households consuming between 200 and 500 units.
She also commended the ministers, administration, and police for their role in maintaining law and order during Ashura, highlighting the use of drone cameras to oversee processions and rallies.
