CM Punjab Enhances Ride-Hailing Services and Safety Measures

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a detailed plan to enhance the online cab services and improve safety across the province.

In a recent meeting with representatives from an online cab service provider, Maryam Nawaz underscored the importance of better regulations and technology to benefit service providers and users. She emphasized the need for new rules to improve the quality of services in the ride-hailing sector. A significant proposal discussed was linking the Women Safety App with online ride-hailing companies to increase safety and security for female riders using technology.

The Chief Minister also addressed creating better employment opportunities, focusing on the youth and women. She directed that bike riders must use safety gear in all circumstances to ensure their road safety.

Additionally, the meeting covered the enhancement of transportation facilities through information technology. Maryam Nawaz also mentioned plans to extend the free Wi-Fi project beyond Lahore and Kasur, making internet access more accessible. This expansion is expected to facilitate easier access to online transportation services, particularly for women.

Maryam Nawaz reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that boost business activities and create job opportunities. “We will encourage every initiative that promotes business activity and creates employment,” she stated.
