PFF Completes District Level Elections

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee announced on Wednesday that it has completed district-level elections successfully.

District Football Association (DFA) elections in Kohat and Tank are delayed due to court orders, while those in Kashmore, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Dera Bugti, Sorab, and Kurram are postponed due to security issues.

Which meant that 8 districts remained untapped during the electoral process. Out of 143 football-playing districts, elections were held in 119 districts.

Additionally, 11 districts lack voting clubs, and in 4 districts, the presence of only one voting club has stalled the electoral process according to guidelines.

The committee reported that the elections resulted in the selection of 119 presidents, 9 senior vice presidents, 116 general secretaries, and 112 treasurers.

66 districts saw 187 positions filled in the first round of elections. In the second round in 33 districts, 95 positions were elected, and in the third round in 23 districts, 75 positions were filled.

Haroon Malik, the Chairman of the PFF Normalisation Committee, congratulated all participants and praised the smooth execution of the elections.

He emphasized the inclusivity and transparency of this electoral process, a first for the organization. Malik also stated that attention will now shift to provincial elections, with rules and regulations for these elections available on the PFF’s social media.

He reiterated the PFF’s dedication to maintaining transparent elections throughout Pakistan and assured that elections will be completed by December.
