How Can Pakistan Qualify For The World Test Championship Finals?

As the race to the World Test Championship (WTC) Finals intensifies, the cutoff percentages for qualification are pivotal where Pakistan needs to win at least 7 matches out of their next 9.

Currently, both Australia and India hold strong positions in the World Test Championship rankings, needing a win percentage of 58% to secure their spots in the finals.

This sets a high bar for other contenders who need to achieve a win percentage of at least 60% to overtake either Australia or India.

West Indies, while still in the hunt, face a challenging path. With a maximum achievable win percentage of 56%, their fate is not entirely in their hands.

To have any chance of qualifying, the West Indies not only need to win all their remaining six matches but also require India to lose six of their upcoming games. This double requirement makes their path to the finals highly improbable.

Other teams, such as England, Pakistan, and South Africa, are also in the hunt but must perform exceptionally well in their remaining fixtures to reach the 60% threshold.

Meanwhile, South Africa need to win seven out of their 8 matches while New Zealand require 6 victories out of 8 to reach the finals.

Sri Lanka also require 6 wins out of 9 with Bangladesh in a precarious situation as they can only afford to lose one game out of their next 8 matches.

England face a daunting task, they need 9 wins out of 9 to overtake India and Australia so that they can make it into the World Test Championship Finals

As the competition progresses, each match gains critical importance, with teams not only focusing on their performances but also keeping a keen eye on the outcomes of how their rivals fare in other matches.
