The former skipper said that it is crucial for Mohsin Naqvi to focus on one job, given the extensive commitments required by both the Interior Ministry and the PCB.

He stressed that the PCB, in particular, needs a leader who can invest their full time and energy to elevate the standard of cricket in the country.

The dual responsibilities of Naqvi have been a topic of debate recently, with critics arguing that managing two high-stakes positions can lead to inefficiencies and divide focus from the job at hand.

As the Interior Minister, Naqvi’s role involves overseeing internal security, law enforcement, and domestic policy, all of which demand unwavering attention.

Concurrently, his position as PCB Chairman involves steering the administration of cricket in Pakistan, developing the sport at the grassroots level, and ensuring the national team’s success on international platforms.

Mohsin Naqvi was elected as PCB Chairman unanimously and unopposed for a three year terms on 6 February, 2024 and he was appointed as the interior minister on March 12.
