Legendary Fast Bowler Slams Appointment Of Waqar Younis In PCB

Former Pakistan fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz has strongly criticized the appointment of Waqar Younis in any role within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

In an outspoken interview with local media, Nawaz called the decision one of the worst in recent times pointing to Younis’s past shortcomings as captain, bowling coach, and head coach of the national team.

Nawaz also raised concerns about Younis’s alleged involvement in a past scandal, arguing that this should disqualify him from holding any position in cricket administration.

Nawaz did not hold back in directing his criticism toward PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, questioning the logic behind such an appointment.

He emphasized that his comments were not motivated by any personal ambition for a position within the PCB, but rather out of concern for the future of Pakistan cricket.

Nawaz argued that having too many coaches could hinder the development of players, who should instead focus on their hard work and dedication.

The former cricketer expressed admiration for Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem praising him for his determination and resilience, highlighting that his success was a result of raw talent and personal effort, rather than reliance on coaching or government support.

Nawaz’s comments reflect a broader concern about the direction of Pakistan cricket and the role of coaching in the development of athletes.
