In what is surely massive news for combat sports in the country, Pakistan’s Shahzaib Rindh is set to challenge Brazil’s Luiz Victor Rocha for the Light Heavyweight Championship of Karate Combat on the 18th of September in Singapore.
Rindh, who is undefeated in Karate Combat with a record of 5 wins and no losses, announced that he is challenging for the title in a social media post on the 14th of August.
In a post on social media site X, Rindh stated “Alhamdulillah I am fighting for the world title in 18th Sep Singapore @karatecombat. Show some love and support, and share the post as much as you can World Title is coming to inshallah Pakistan.”
Shahzaib “King” Rindh is notably the #1 ranked Wushu fighter in Pakistan, boasting an astounding combined Wushu and Kickboxing record of 75-4. Currently, he is training under Asim Zaidi at the renowned Goat Shed gym in Miami, Florida.
The Champion Rocha, dubbed “The Pitbull”, has a record of 9 wins and 3 losses in Karate Combat. A lifelong Karate practitioner, he is sure to provide Shahzaib with a tough match. Rindh however, will be looking to channel the seemingly unstoppable momentum he is carrying, with him coming off a dominant victory against India’s Rana Singh at Karate Combat 45
