CM Punjab Announces Awards for Teachers of Top Students

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that teachers of top-performing students across all provincial educational boards will receive awards. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance academic standards and support students and educators in Punjab.

During a meeting with the education department, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of acknowledging the hard work and dedication of teachers who contribute to their students’ success. She instructed the department to ensure that both students who achieve top positions and their teachers are duly recognized and rewarded.

In addition to the awards for teachers, the Chief Minister approved several new educational initiatives aimed at supporting students and modernizing the educational infrastructure in Punjab:

  •  The Punjab government will allocate over Rs125 billion annually to cover all educational expenses for 25,000 students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder academic pursuits.
  • Recognizing the need for safe and reliable transportation for female students, the Chief Minister announce buses will be provided to 60 girls’ colleges across the province.
  • To foster technological advancement and digital literacy, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered the immediate establishment of information technology hubs in all districts of Punjab.

The meeting was attended by several key figures in the provincial government, including Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sajid Zafar Dal, and Higher Education Secretary Dr. Farrukh Naveed. Their presence underscores the collaborative effort to enhance the educational landscape in Punjab.
