Nothing, a British phone maker that launched its first product only three years ago, is currently the fastest-growing brand for smartphones and wireless earbuds, according to a report from market analysis firm Canalys.
Although the numbers tend to look exceptional when you’re a small company, the growth is still astonishing. In terms of smartphones, Nothing has seen a whopping 693% growth in Q2 2024 compared to the same quarter last year. As for the first half of 2024, Nothing’s smartphone sales have gone up by 246% year over year.
This makes Nothing the fastest-growing brand in the UK, Saudi Arabia, and India in H1 2024.
The company’s wireless earbuds section reported an even more impressive growth of 769% YoY in Q2 2024. The first half’s numbers went up by 331%. Nothing was the fastest-growing wireless earbuds brand in the US, France, Spain, Netherlands, and Italy in Q2 2024.
Nothing’s latest launch is the Phone (2a) Plus, which, as the name says, is an update over the previously launched Nothing Phone (2a). It comes with a slightly faster chipset, the Dimensity 7350 Pro, and also upgrades the front camera from 32MP to 50MP, introducing 4K video recording and more.
The 50W wired charging shouldn’t make a notable difference compared to the 45W rating since it’s working alongside the same 5,000 mAh battery.
