ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot, has reached a new milestone with 200 million people using it weekly. This represents significant growth for the service, doubling its user base since November. The surge in users is likely driven by the growing interest in artificial intelligence and ChatGPT’s position as a leading generative AI tool.
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, reports that a staggering 92% of Fortune 500 companies have adopted their products. Furthermore, the recent release of GPT-4o Mini last month has led to a twofold increase in the use of OpenAI’s automated API.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman commented on ChatGPT’s growth saying:
People are using our tools now as a part of their daily lives, making a real difference in areas like healthcare and education—whether it’s helping with routine tasks, solving hard problems, or unlocking creativity.
ChatGPT has been getting new features in its arsenal left and right. Most recently the AI chatbot received the ability to fine-tune its output for specific project needs. This can be incredibly useful for professionals since ChatGPT’s outputs sometimes don’t fit the exact tone or style necessary.
OpenAI now makes it easier to customize its AI models with a new feature called fine-tuning. This feature acts as a finishing touch, allowing users to refine the model’s responses after the initial training phase. Even small adjustments made through fine-tuning can lead to big improvements in the quality of the model’s output.
