Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the lineup of match officials for the Champions One-Day Cup, set to commence on September 12 at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.
The tournament will kick off with a highly anticipated clash between the Wolves and Panthers, overseen by esteemed umpires Aleem Dar and Asif Yaqoob, both of whom have served on the ICC’s elite panel.
Waleed Yaqub will take on the role of third umpire, while Zulfiqar Jan will serve as the fourth umpire, ensuring a high standard of officiating throughout the event.
The Playing Control Team will be under the guidance of a former Test cricketer, adding an extra layer of expertise to the tournament’s management.
The umpiring panel also features Faisal Aafreedi, Imtiaz Iqbal, Imran Jawed, Nasir Hussain, and Rashid Riaz, totaling nine officials dedicated to maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of the matches.
In addition to the robust umpiring team, the tournament will be enriched by the presence of legendary Pakistani cricketers, who will act as mentors.
Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, and Waqar Younis are set to share their invaluable experience with the players.
Match referees for the event include Bilal Khilji, Iftikhar Ahmed, Iqbal Sheikh, Nadeem Arshad, and Kamran Chaudhry, ensuring comprehensive oversight of the competition.
The appointments of match officials for the playoffs and final will be announced at a later date, adding to the anticipation surrounding this premier cricketing event.
