Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is facing delays in obtaining a crucial No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for the upcoming SAFF Under-17 Championship.
According to reports, the PSB has rejected the PFF’s current NOC application, citing incomplete documentation and procedural delays.
PFF had initially submitted the request on August 22, seeking clearance for the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in Bhutan starting September 20.
However, the PSB responded on September 6, informing the federation that the application had arrived after the deadline and lacked the necessary approvals. Specifically, the NOC was missing the signature of the PFF Normalization Committee (NC) Chairman, a mandatory requirement under PSB guidelines.
In an official email, the PSB emphasized that only the Chairman’s signature would suffice and advised the PFF to resubmit the application with complete documentation.
This has led to a time-sensitive situation for the PFF, as the Pakistan Under-17 football squad continues to prepare for the championship at a training camp in Abbottabad.
With just days left before the team’s departure, the PFF faces a challenge to ensure that the Pakistan Under-17 team players reach Bhutan and participate in the SAFF Championship.
A 26-member squad has been selected for the training camp in Abbottabad. Pakistan will face Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan in their Group B matches of the SAFF Under-17 Championship.
