Pakistan U-17 National Team Training Camp for SAFF to Kickstart Tomorrow in Abbottabad

Pakistan U-17 National Team is set to kick off their training camp in Abbottabad tomorrow for the preparations for the SAFF U-17 Championship in Bhutan.

The squad will be honing their skills at Kunj Football Ground, a venue that was recently embroiled in legal disputes with the Tehsil Municipal Administration.

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) secured a stay order from the court until October 5, temporarily halting the Tehsil Municipal Administration’s (TMA) decision to cancel the lease agreement for the ground.

The SAFF U-17 Championship, scheduled from September 20-30 in Bhutan, will see Pakistan’s young team face off against Nepal in their opening match on September 21.

Head coach Sajjad Mahmood, alongside assistant coach Hassan Baloch, goalkeeper coach Noman Ibrahim, and physical trainer M. Ali, will lead the squad through a crucial preparation phase.

The PFF’s swift action to resolve the lease dispute underscores their commitment to providing the best possible environment for the team’s preparation.

It was expected that the Kunj Football Ground of Abbottabad might not be available for the preparation of the Under-17 team and that the Islamabad training ground in the Pakistan Sports Complex might be used.

Lahore’s training ground near Punjab Athletic Stadium was also under serious consideration before the PFF acted swiftly in acquiring the stay order.
