Pakistani Cueists Qualify for Knockouts in the Snooker World Cup

Pakistani cueists Awais Munir and Asjad Iqbal have advanced to the Round of 16 in the Snooker World Cup in Mongolia, following a flawless performance in the group stages.

The Pakistani players emerged undefeated with formidable performances and secured top positions in their respective groups during the Snooker World Cup.

Awais Munir showcased remarkable resilience, especially in his match against Iran’s Siyavosh Mozayani. Despite losing the opening frame 9-63, Awais made a strong comeback, winning the next three frames with scores of 78-34, 59-50, and 73-13.

His dominant form continued as he later defeated Mongolia’s Kash Uchjir in straight frames, with scores of 60-17, 62-12, and 81-09.

Awais followed this up with another straight-frame victory over Oman’s Hussain Al-Wati, finishing with a decisive 68-06, 101-12, and 83-15.

Meanwhile, Asjad Iqbal maintained his exceptional form, defeating Qatar’s Ali Alobaidli 3-1 in the group stages with frame scores of 59-36, 26-63, 58-19, and 70-58.

He continued his unbeaten run with a 3-0 win against Mongolia’s Batarkhuu Naranhuu, followed by a dominant 3-0 victory over Japan’s Junji Miyazawa, with scores of 68-18, 63-11, and 83-01.

With their undefeated streaks, Awais and Asjad are now poised for strong performances in the pre-quarterfinals, aiming to secure further success on the global stage.
