Mark Chapman Names His Favorite All-Rounder From Pakistan

New Zealand cricketer Mark Chapman has revealed his admiration for former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq during a recent episode of the ProSports podcast.

The all-rounder shared insights into his cricketing inspirations, expressing that while he grew up idolizing the dynamic Shahid Afridi, Razzaq’s ability with the bat left a lasting impression on him.

“Growing up, I idolized Shahid Afridi because you can’t look past him in the pecking order,” Chapman stated during the interview. “But I liked how Abdul Razzaq used to bat during his peak years. I really loved his batting.”

Razzaq, known for his aggressive yet reliable performances as an allrounder, played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s cricketing successes during the late 1990s and 2000s.

His ability to turn games around with explosive hitting in pressure situations earned him respect from cricket fans worldwide, including Chapman.

Chapman’s comments reflect the high regard Razzaq holds in the global cricketing community, where his consistency and flair have left an enduring legacy.

Although Afridi’s flamboyant style made him a household name, it seems Razzaq’s powerful batting during his prime made a unique mark on Chapman’s cricketing journey.

Abdul Razzaq was part of the winning T20 World Cup team in 2009 and also won the 2000 Asia Cup in Bangladesh. He has 269 ODI wickets and 100 Test scalps to his name.

The all-rounder also has 5,080 ODI runs with three centuries and 23 fifties. He was also part of the Pakistan team in the 1999 ICC World Cup that reached the final.
