Fly Jinnah Flight Escapes Fatal Disaster After Mayday Call

A private airline flight traveling from Karachi to Lahore issued a ‘Mayday’ call, citing smoke in the cargo compartment near Lahore at 7:15 PM, according to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA).

The flight, Fly Jinnah’s FL 846, landed safely at Lahore Airport at 7:23 PM, the PAA spokesperson confirmed to ProPakistani.

In line with standard operating procedures (SOPs), the airport fire department was on standby to handle any emergency situation, as per the PAA spokesperson.

All passengers and crew were safely evacuated using the aircraft’s emergency evacuation system, the spokesperson added.

After inspection, the fire department declared the aircraft clear at 7:57 PM, confirming no further hazard.

High-ranking officials have ordered an investigation into the incident, the PAA spokesperson concluded.
