According to media reports on Saturday, there is ‘no chance’ of replacing Shan Masood as Pakistan’s captain in Tests.
Jason Gillespie, Head Coach of the Pakistan test side will pick the final squad for the England series next week in collaboration with the selectors panel. Gillespie is due to reach Lahore on Monday evening.
Shan Masood has been Pakistan’s test captain since last November. With captaincy being a hotly debated topic as of late, Masood must be eager to show he is the right man to lead Pakistan in the longest format of the game
The England side will arrive in Pakistan on October 2nd ahead of the much-awaited series after the PCB finally confirmed the schedule last Friday. Both teams will face off on October 7 in the first of the three scheduled tests. Both the first and second Tests are set to take place in Multan, with the third taking place in Rawalpindi.
Following the England series, the Pakistan white-ball team will set off down under, where the Green Shirts are set to battle the Aussies across three ODIs and three T20Is between November 4 and 18.
After the tour of Australia concludes, tours of South Africa and Zimbabwe will be on the docket.
