Women’s T20 World Cup: Skipper Fatima Sana Urges Pakistan to Play ‘Fearless Cricket’

Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana has expressed confidence in her team’s ability, emphasizing on playing fearless cricket, ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE. Fatima will lead her side in a challenging group that includes Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.

Speaking to a local news outlet before Pakistan departed for Dubai, Fatima Sana shared her thoughts on the upcoming competition. “I feel no pressure due to my captaincy, as I have led the team before,” she stated. Sana stressed the need to focus on performance rather than the reputation of the opposing teams. “We should believe in playing well and carry that belief forward. When you play against a strong team, you play with more intensity,” she added.

Senior all-rounder Nida Dar emphasized the importance of composure and controlling nerves. “We have played against Sri Lanka and India several times and have also won against New Zealand, so they have the experience and points to perform well against these teams this time,” Dar noted. She also mentioned the team’s high morale and confidence, bolstered by their recent series against South Africa.
