The City Traffic Police has announced using body cameras for officers to ensure transparency and improve interactions with the public. This initiative comes under the guidance of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Beenish Fatima, stated that these body cameras will be distributed among traffic staff across all sectors. The aim is to foster a courteous and law-abiding approach while assisting road users.
The CTO explained that the cameras will monitor not only the conduct of traffic officials but also record any traffic violations by citizens. This step is expected to boost public confidence and promote a more transparent enforcement of traffic regulations.
Beenish Fatima emphasized that the safety of citizens and their property remains the top priority for the traffic police. She assured the public that any negligence by officers would not be tolerated.
This new measure aims to enhance road safety and uphold the rule of law. The CTO encouraged citizens to follow traffic laws diligently to minimize accidents and ensure the safety of everyone on the roads.
