In their ongoing crackdown on illegal constructions and commercial buildings, LDA teams demolished eight structures and sealed 17 commercial properties in a major operation on Tuesday.
The operation, led by Chief Town Planner-I Asad Zaman, took place in areas including Sabzazar, Multan Road, Allama Iqbal Town, Marghzar Colony, and nearby localities, as per the directives of LDA DG Tahir Farooq.
Asad Zaman provided details, stating that the teams demolished an illegal warehouse and sealed four others, tore down a structure in Canal View Society, and destroyed a construction at the Sabzazar truck stand as well as a marriage hall in Sabzazar’s P Block. In Allama Iqbal Town’s Karim Block, they removed illegal hotel sheds and demolished a cylinder shop.
A property in Nishtar Block was sealed for unauthorized alterations, shutters were removed in Ravi Block, and constructions were demolished in Marghzar Colony’s E Block and on Link Road. Over a dozen properties in Sabzazar were sealed for illegal commercial use.
The CTP-I noted that several notices had been issued to these properties before the operation and emphasized that the LDA will continue its strict actions against the city’s illegal construction and commercial buildings.
In addition, the LDA announced that the first public auction of the financial year will be held today, Sept 25, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Convention Centre, Expo Centre, Johor Town. The auction will include commercial and residential plots, parking sites, hospital sites, petrol pump locations, marquee sites, sports facilities, and educational sites from various schemes.
