Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee Chairman Haroon Malik revealed in a ProSports Podcast that the national training camp for the women’s football team will commence in the first week of October in Islamabad.
This decision was confirmed by the PFF Chairman, who said “We will conduct the training camp in 1st week of October and we have chosen Islamabad as the training venue as that city is closer to the climate of Nepal Kathmandu.”
The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship is scheduled to take place in Nepal starting on October 17.
The training camp aims to prepare the team for their upcoming matches against regional rivals Bangladesh and India.
The PFF Chairman expressed optimism about the influx of new talent, stating, “The National Women’s Championship has brought a lot of new faces to the fore, and many players will join the training camp for the first time as we will try out new players.”
The camp will feature 24 probable players, including returning forward Nadia Khan, who has recovered from an injury, and Amina Hanif who was part of the Olympic Qualifiers last year.
This camp marks a significant step for Pakistan’s women’s football team as they prepare for their first international competition since September 2023, providing an opportunity to reassert their presence in the regional football scene.
