Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, was informed on Thursday that the Sky Garden Project, an extension of the Green Enclave Bharakau scheme, is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Housing, it was stated that infrastructure development in some blocks will be finished by December of this year, while the remainder of the project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. The announcement followed the housing minister’s site visit to the Sky Garden Project to review the ongoing infrastructural work.
The Sky Garden scheme is a project under the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), a department affiliated with the Ministry of Housing and Works. Secretary Housing and Works Dr. Shazad Khan Bangash and senior ministry officials accompanied the minister during the visit.
During the visit, the minister received a formal briefing from the Director General of FGEHA and held detailed discussions with contractors regarding the project’s progress.
Sky Gardens (Green Enclave-II) is a housing scheme spanning 11,000 kanals, located in Mauza Kathar Mengal, near the Murree Expressway on the outskirts of Islamabad. The project, launched in 2019, faced delays for various reasons. Currently, infrastructural development, including road construction, boundary walls, water supply systems, and a sewerage system, is underway in blocks H, J, and K as part of Phase 1(B), with an estimated cost of Rs. 7.944 billion.
During his address to the media, the housing minister emphasized that providing high-quality residential and housing facilities is a top priority. He reaffirmed his commitment, along with his team at the Ministry and FGEHA, to resolving delays in ongoing projects. He praised the Sky Garden site for its scenic beauty and promised that it would be equipped with high-standard urban housing amenities.
The minister also commended the contractors and workers for their continued efforts and urged for the project’s timely completion. He was also briefed on the land-sharing formula for developed plots in the scheme, which includes a 70:30 ratio for residential and a 45:55 ratio for commercial plots.
During the visit, the minister inaugurated the Commoners Bridge and planted a tree as part of the event.
