The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalisation Committee (NC), under the leadership of Chairperson Haroon Ahmed Malik and members Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar, Saud Hashimi, and Haris Azmat, has successfully concluded the Provincial and Territorial Elections. This marks a significant milestone in the electoral roadmap as directed by FIFA and AFC, moving closer to restoring football governance in Pakistan.
Speaking at a media briefing, Haroon Malik highlighted the professionalism and dedication with which the PFF NC conducted the elections. “The Provincial Elections represent a key milestone in our mandate to reinstate elected football governance in Pakistan. From day one, the PFF NC ensured a fair and transparent process, beginning with the historic scrutiny of clubs, followed by the District elections, and now concluding with these Provincial elections,” Malik stated. He expressed gratitude for the trust and participation received from the football community across the country, acknowledging their pivotal role in this journey.
A vital aspect of the election process was the All Pakistan District Championship (APDC), which served as a platform for the PFF NC to validate and organize club participation. The thorough scrutiny process ensured that only genuine football stakeholders were involved, laying the foundation for an inclusive and representative election.
Beyond the electoral mandate, Haroon Malik emphasized the broader achievements of the PFF NC. “In addition to overseeing the elections, the PFF NC has demonstrated strong leadership in managing Pakistan football’s broader operations. From organizing the men’s national team’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, both home and away, to ensuring the national women’s team participated in domestic and international tournaments, we have maintained a professional standard across all activities. Additionally, the successful execution of futsal events and courses for coaches and referees highlights our commitment to football development at all levels,” Malik added.
Shahid Khokhar, a member of the NC, outlined the next crucial steps in the roadmap. He pointed to the formation of the PFF Congress, which will be essential in establishing a representative football governing body. This final phase will restore full governance to elected officials, marking a new chapter for football in Pakistan as per the directions of FIFA and AFC.
Khokhar also expressed his appreciation for the football community, recognizing their role in the success of the District and Provincial elections. Celebrations were held to honor this achievement, symbolizing a collective victory for Pakistan’s football future.
The PFF Normalisation Committee, along with its members, extended their gratitude to the football community and the media for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout this journey. As the elections move towards completion, the PFF NC remains focused on its mission to ensure a sustainable and transparent future for football in Pakistan.
This milestone serves as a testament to the Committee’s dedication to revitalizing football governance, laying a strong foundation for the sport’s future growth and success in Pakistan.
