The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the match officials for the upcoming Test series between England and Pakistan, a crucial part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25.
The series, featuring three Test matches, will be held in Multan and Rawalpindi from October 7 to October 28.
Leading the playing control teams for this high-stakes series will be Sir Richie Richardson from the West Indies, a distinguished member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.
The series will kick off with the first Test at the Multan Cricket Stadium, scheduled from October 7 to October 11. The second Test will also take place in Multan, from October 15 to October 19. The teams will then move to Rawalpindi for the third and final Test, which will commence on October 24 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
For the first Test, the on-field umpiring duties will be handled by Sri Lanka’s Kumar Dharmasena and Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Saikat, both esteemed members of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires. New Zealand’s Christopher Gaffaney, also from the ICC Elite Panel, will serve as the third umpire, while Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob, from the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will take on the role of fourth umpire.
In the second Test, Kumar Dharmasena will continue his on-field duties, this time alongside Christopher Gaffaney. Sharfuddoula Saikat will transition to the role of third umpire, with Pakistan’s Rashid Riaz, another member of the ICC International Panel, stepping in as the fourth umpire.
The third Test in Rawalpindi will see Christopher Gaffaney and Sharfuddoula Saikat as the on-field umpires. Kumar Dharmasena will oversee the match as the third umpire, while Pakistan’s Faisal Aafreedi, part of the ICC International Panel, will serve as the fourth umpire.
