Regal Automobiles to Manufacture Seres 3 Electric Car in Pakistan

In a significant advancement for the local electric vehicle (EV) industry, Regal Automobile Industries Limited has been granted an assembling certificate for its Seres 3 electric crossover SUV in Pakistan.

The certification was issued by the Engineering Development Board (EDB), which validated Regal Automobile’s in-house assembling and manufacturing capabilities. This green light, effective from 2nd October 2024, paves the way for the company to produce two variants of the Seres 3 EV in Pakistan.

Seres 3, a 5-seater electric crossover SUV, will now be available in two variants: one with a 49 kWh battery and another with a 54 kWh battery. This development follows the vehicle’s initial introduction as a completely built unit (CBU) in Pakistan in November 2023.

Only the 49 kWh variant was available initially, with a launch price of Rs. 9,100,000. However, just a month later, the company reduced the price to Rs. 8,390,000, which has remained steady since then. Notably, the Seres 3 EV is currently the most affordable option in the electric crossover SUV segment in Pakistan.

The addition of a 54 kWh variant, which features a larger battery, is a promising step for the company and the country’s EV market.
