Journalist Suffers Horrible Injury During Islamabad Administration’s Operation at KP House

In an unfortunate incident at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad, a journalist by the name of Asghar Hayat sustained a severe injury when his feet were crushed by a hydraulic barrier.

The accident occurred when an Islamabad Police officer inadvertently activated the barrier, causing it to close on the journalist’s feet.

The impact of the barrier resulted in a significant injury, cutting the journalist’s toes. He was promptly transported to a hospital, where medical professionals determined that he would require plastic surgery to address the damage.

According to the journalist:

Yesterday, during coverage at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, both of my feet were injured after being caught by a hydraulic barrier. By the grace of Allah, surgery was successfully performed on the toes of both feet today at Shifa International Hospital. Thanks to Allah, the rest of my toes and feet were unharmed. I am grateful to my journalist friends, the GNN team, and the administration, who provided first aid, took me to the hospital promptly, and stayed with me throughout. Special thanks to Minister of Information Atta Tarar, who directed the medical arrangements, and particularly to Press Information Officer Mubashir Hassan, who personally brought me in an ambulance from CDA to Shifa International Hospital and oversaw all the arrangements.

Fellow media personnel present for the KP House coverage lashed out at the careless police officer for injuring the journalist. Pictures and videos of the injury are also available with ProPakistani.

In response to the incident, the Information Minister took swift action, instructing the Press Information Officer that the journalist be transferred from CDA Hospital to Shifa International Hospital for further treatment. The transfer was facilitated by an ambulance to ensure the journalist received the necessary medical care without delay.
