Four of the five mentors from the 2024 Bahria Town Champions One-Day Cup will also be involved in the National U19 Women’s T20, which is scheduled to begin on October 14 at LCCA Ground in Lahore.
The U19 Women’s T20 will feature five teams with four Champions Cup mentors —Challengers, Conquerors, Invincibles, Stars, and Strikers—competing in a double-league format. The top two teams will advance to the final on November 3.
Challengers will be mentored by Waqar Younis, while Misbah-ul-Haq will guide the Conquerors. Shoaib Malik will mentor the Stars, and Saqlain Mushtaq will oversee the Strikers. Team Invincibles will not have a mentor due to Sarfaraz Ahmed’s national team commitments.
This tournament will provide a platform for young women cricketers to showcase their skills and make a case for selection in Pakistan’s U19 team for the upcoming ACC U19 T20 and the ICC U19 Women’s T20 in Malaysia in January 2025. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will also hope they will be able to find some new players that may be able to add some much-needed depth to the national side
A total of 75 players will compete for a prize pool of PKR1.1 million, with PKR0.5 million awarded to the champions and PKR0.3 million to the runners-up. Two matches will be held daily, with the first starting at 9:00 AM and the second at 1:00 PM.
