Pakistani batter Azam Khan took to Instagram to express his disappointment over the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to issue a show cause notice to fellow cricketer Fakhar Zaman.
The notice was served following Fakhar’s public criticism of the PCB’s decision to bench Babar Azam for the second Test match against England in Multan.
Fakhar Zaman, known for his candidness, openly expressed his disappointment with the PCB’s decision to sideline Babar Azam, citing an example of how the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) handled Virat Kohli when he was going through a rough patch. The PCB, however, did not take kindly to Fakhar’s public critique, viewing it as a breach of protocol for a national player to question the board’s decisions publicly. Consequently, Fakhar was issued a show cause notice, demanding an explanation for his comments.
In a twist of irony, Azam Khan, son of former Pakistan cricketer Moin Khan, appears to have followed in Fakhar’s footsteps by publicly expressing his discontent with the PCB’s disciplinary action. Azam shared a story on his Instagram account featuring a facepalm emoji, a gesture widely interpreted as a sign of frustration or disappointment, in response to the PCB’s handling of the situation with Fakhar.

Azam’s social media post has sparked discussions among fans and analysts, with many questioning whether he too might face disciplinary action for his public expression of disapproval. The PCB has yet to comment on Azam Khan’s Instagram post.
