In an exciting development for auto enthusiasts, MG Motors Pakistan is gearing up to introduce the locally assembled MG HS Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) at the Pakistan Auto Show 2024, scheduled for October 25.
This new variant is part of MG’s popular HS lineup and marks the company’s entry into the growing hybrid market. The vehicle is a facelift version of the current MG HS model, offering a blend of electric and hybrid capabilities.
MG HS PHEV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor, producing 160 hp at 5500 RPM and a torque of 250 Nm at 4300 RPM. It meets Euro 5 emission standards and MG claims a fuel economy of 58 km/liter, though real-world figures will be much lower.
The PHEV is powered by a 16.6 kWh battery that provides a range of 52 km in pure electric mode. The electric motor generates 120 hp and 230 Nm of torque on its own.
