WWE Hall of Famer and former SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long wants former Divas Champion AJ Lee to return to WWE and join her husband CM Punk. In an interview with a wrestling media outlet, Long explained how AJ Lee’s comeback could significantly benefit WWE.
AJ Lee, who retired from professional wrestling in 2015, left a lasting impact on the women’s division. Her blend of charisma and in-ring skills made her a fan favorite and a crucial figure in the early phases of the women’s wrestling revolution.
Long, who had the opportunity to work with AJ Lee before her marriage to CM Punk in the WWE, spoke highly of her, saying,
I’ve met her when I was there before she ever married CM Punk, so I had the opportunity to work with her. What a nice person, real nice lady, great attitude and everything.
He also conveyed his belief that the time is right for Lee to return to wrestling, highlighting the positive influence she could have on the current landscape of WWE.
One of Long’s main arguments for AJ Lee’s possible return is that she left WWE on good terms. Unlike some other high-profile departures in wrestling, Lee’s exit was amicable, indicating that the door for her comeback is still open.
