Former Pakistani batter-turned-YouTuber, Ahmed Shehzad has taken to social media to criticize what turned out to be yet another collapse by the Pakistani top order following stumps on Day 1 of the deciding Test match against England.
After bowling England out for 267, Pakistan stepped up to bat but was completely rattled by the English bowlers, leaving Pakistan reeling at 46 for 3 after 14 overs before recovering to 73 for 3 at the close of play.
Abdullah Shafique fell first for 14, trapped lbw by Shoaib Bashir in the 10th over, Saim Ayub was on 19 when he chipped a Jack Leach delivery to Joe Root at short midwicket. Kamran Ghulam was then bowled in the 14th after scoring just 3 runs by Gus Atkinson
On social media site X, Ahmed Shehzad exclaimed that yet another batting collapse had struck, and this time the pitch could not be used as an excuse. The batter called on Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha to step up and take responsibility as the experienced players in the side to rescue Pakistan from such a perilous position, saying that a solid partnership was desperately needed.
At 73 for 3, Pakistan is trailing by 194 runs with Captain Shan Masood and Vice-captain Saud Shakeel at the crease with twin scores of 16 off 32 and 34 balls respectively.
