Pakistan are guaranteed a decent amount of travelling support down under, as tickets for the Pakistan Fan Zone at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for the 1st ODI have completely sold out.
In what was said to be in accordance with Cricket Australia‘s (CA) multicultural action plan, the purported fan zones were announced as far back as May, with CA announcing that it had allocated designated seating sections for Pakistani fans at all six venues.
This was followed by The Pakistan High Commissioner to Australia visiting the CA offices in June today to officially reserve the tickets for the Pakistan Fan Zone. At the time, the move was termed as an ‘initiative designed to rally support for the Pakistan cricket team.’
The Pakistan team is set to compete in three One Day Internationals (ODIs) against Australia, with 1st ODI beginning on November 4th at the renowned MCG. The ODI’s will be followed by a series of three T20 Internationals, starting on November 14th.
